This case is a no-brainer for anyone leaving the house with their iPad Dec 30, 2010
By Jessica Blackshear After my last iPad was stolen (when I took it out of the house), I knew exactly what kind of case I wanted to use with my next one. I had envisioned a folio style case with a strap that would keep the iPad by my side and ready to be used, but also tethered to me so I wouldn't accidentally set it down again. This is essential when I take my iPad out and about with me.
I looked for HOURS online, and everything else I found that had a strap required you to take the iPad in and out in order to use it -- which totally defeated the purpose of a case with a strap. Fortunately Grantwood had just what I wanted -- and it arrived in just 2 days! Thank you Grantwood for being awesome.

not a good fit Aug 02, 2010

I got this because I like that it has a removable strap. That does make it easy to carry around on your shoulder to keep your hands free. Then you can remove the strap when you won't need it to have less to carry around. That part works great.
However that fit of the iPad is horrible. The iPad slides in nicely, but while the felt covers most of the corners and edges, the four corners are not connected, so they feel rather loose instead of a firm fit. Then as I use it, I feel the iPad move around inside so that it move up to a half in in any given directly. The problem this causes is then when I'm ready to turn it off or look for the volume or lock buttons, I can find it. I have to feel around for them. This is made even more difficult because of the zipper... I have to fumble past the zipper and felt to find the button I'm looking for. I've given up on this case and moved on to a new one.

Much better protection at half the price Jul 15, 2010
By Martin A. Kosdrosky Received the simple case as a gift shortly after I got my iPad 3g 64Gig. I had bought the apple cover and liked it but decided to try this one since I had it. I have not gone back to the apple cover! This protects my $830 investment so much more that the Apple cover - sturdier and much more substantial padding. With the price being half that of the Apple cover this is a no brainer. Folded back on itself this case raises the iPad in its landscape orientation just about as much as the Apple case. The quality of the materials is excellent. It doesn't smudge like the Apple case does. I've told my friends with iPads, and those thinking about buying iPads, to buy this. Also it comes with a shoulder strap that hooks into grommets at each end of the spine of the case - nice to carry through the airport! If you love your iPad like I do, then buy this case instead of Apple's. If I had done that from the beginning then I could have bought another case for the next iPad that I buy (when the one with the front-facing camera comes out this November to use with face time) without spending any more on cases than I have already!
A great case! Mar 15, 2011
By philfloridabuckeye I spent a lot of time looking for a simple case that provides great protection without the "bulk". This case fit my needs perfectly as the tactile rubber backing is easily to hold and is non-slip, while the thickness is enough to protect the device. Simple and elegant. I can easily recommend this case to others. I've purchased other things from this Grantwood company, and I think you will see their superior products everywhere before too long.

iPad Simple Case Feb 26, 2011

I have a Simple Case for my Kindle 2 and love it. Not so much for the iPad. Wish it had a pocket inside the front cover like the Kindle case. The biggest problem is attaching the shoulder strap. Almost gave up on attaching it. Wish there were rings instead of the grommets. A card came with the case and it showed the case with rings. That would have been so much better. On the plus side, the case does protect my iPad and the price is unbelievable.
