You get what you pay for.. Nov 03, 2010
By eDogLost I bought this because I thought it would be funny and it was at a good price. Unfortunately the case has an overall cheap feel to it. In about a month the red string came off and now it's just a yellow Velcro sleeve.
The inside is a nice nylon and protects my laptop from scratches, so it serves it's purpose as a case. However I'm on the market for something new. The cheap yellow surface has become discolored from other things in my bag rubbing against it.
It's a good cheap solution for a case, but it is not something you will use very long.

It's just OK Jan 12, 2011
By Kevin Moore This case is *really* tight when used with the late 2010 MacBook Air. Also, the inside lining is larger than it should be, which means you can see wrinkles through the yellow vinyl.

great for Macbook Air Mar 20, 2009
By V. Tangkaravakoon I hardly review any product. But have been using Macvelope for a month, I have to admit that I really like it. It's the most standout sleeve I've ever seen. It's light and take very less space in the bag and not slippery in my grip. It gives solid and durable feeling and doesn't get dirty yet. I can put Macbook Air in and out easily. And I think it gives enough protection in a messenger bag providing you don't drop the bag too hard.
One thing I want to change is to swop the flip-flop pads. The softer one should be at the side that might contact MBA instead of the other. The producer might think it won't scratch MBA but I still keep my hand between the pad and MBA when I put it in and out.
Macvelope is the first sleeve I enjoy using enough to write a review. And I have used almost ten of those over ten years. I strongly recommend it to fellow MBA users.

cute but not well made Oct 25, 2011
By slstuff I heard about the red string falling off, but that didn't bother me much because the velcro is what keeps it closed anyway. What does bother me though, is that the side stitching was not properly done so there is about an inch hole on the side of my macvelope. You can actually see where the needle must have slipped off the vinyl and came back on an inch later, definitely not the best stitching or quality control. It's still serving its purpose and I plan to sew it shut myself rather than go through the hassle of returning it for a new one. It's really cute though, if not for the poor sewing I would have given it 5 stars. But then again, I think giving it 3 stars is fair for a product that came with a hole in it.

Good Idea, but durability isn't exactly the best. Jun 17, 2011

I bought this case since it was an awesome idea. It truly is, but the problem is the velcro's quality is not really outstanding.
The case was 1 month old when the velcro stated peeling, and once it was halfway peeled, I just decided to peel it off since it was dangling...
For 20 dollars, this is a great buy, but perhaps you might want to reconsider buying cases that have a zipper.
The red tie thing does add security, but it fell after a month after the velcro fell, so now my case just holds papers :P
Anyways, it is a nice idea and good product for the first few months, but once time passes, quality lacks in the velcro part. Everything else (the sides and the bottom) are nicely put together.
